At home (and work) in Bozeman:
A pen-pal program between Gallatin Valley and Khwisero elementary school students fosters a fun cultural exchange. Members collect letters from Bozeman kids and hand-deliver them to Khwisero students. The initial reply letters are also hand-carried back to Bozeman, and the students can continue the exchange individually from there on.
Exercising our engineering (and not-so-engineering) brains, we have also built several exhibits for the Children’s Musuem in Bozeman, taught Bridges and Dams lessons in 2nd grade classes, and presented during Engineering Week at MSU.
We sponsor and host a speaker series as well, including specialists on alternative energy and building materials, local food initiatives, and international health.
